The Tender Boat relates to the dual purpose of tender boats in modern maritime. In normal operations, tender boats carry out a safe journey between ship and shore for crew and guests with great precision and control. In critical conditions, they become something more; certified rescue craft and emergency lifeboats.
On cruise ships, tender boats are in most cases SOLAS-compliant and prepared to the maximum with scenarios involving evacuation. Crews on deck who are trained operate them and they can be used if all primary systems fail. They thereby create a very important link between daily operations and emergency response.
